What are these lines and this dot on my skin?
Dear Dr. Nikolic, Thank you for answering. Ever since a few weeks ago, on the top of my hand, there have been red lines in between the "cracks". Lotion keeps them at bay, but does not eliminate them. Furthermore, a month and a half ago, an orange mark appeared on my skin. I figured it was a spider bite. It has gotten smaller since and is now a painless, slightly darker mark that maintains on my skin no matter how many ointments and treatments I use. Are these possible indicators of something more fatal? Thank you, R.

Thank you for the question and my apologies for the delay with my response.

This is a difficult question to answer over the net as ideally one would need to examine the skin.

Your best option would be to see a dermatologist who can take a closer look and advise you on the best treatment options.

From your description it may be a fungal infection which will require specific antifungal medication. However I am not sure what the orange mark which has now turned dark could be without examining it.

So please make an appointment with a dermatologist who can check everything out for you.

Kind regards

Dr Alek Nikolic
