Dagga not a drug??
My husband smokes weed everyday and I hate it!! He used to be a serious drug addict and now says that he smokes weed to relax. We went to hell and back when he was addicted to serious narcotics about 4 years ago, and I don't feel that I should give up any more of my life to drugs, even though weed is not destroying our lives and relationship like Mandrax did... He says that he does not think that dagga is a drug, and that I should not worry about it because he is not selling our household goods he way he did when he was on Mandrax. Despite the fact, I still call him a drug addict when he rolls a "joint". Should I come to some kind of compromise with regard to this habit? In my mind a drug is a drug no matter what, and the fact that he feels he needs to smoke it everyday makes him an addict
Good afternoon C
The debate over whether Weed is an addictive drug rages on with some saying it is Psychologicallly and Physically addictive. As you say, you have been to hell and back and much reserach has been dedicated to dagga being an intro again to drug addiction for those who have rehabilitated themselves from drugs like Mandrax.
If he needs it every day, he is addicted, and I believe you have cause to ask him to stop the behaviour as it has caused so much strife and heartbreak in the past.
As him to go to Narcotics Anonymous and you can attend Narc Anon for the family members of Narcotic Addicts.
Good luck
