Ankle Fracture Report
Hello, Hope you are doing great. Can you please explain me this report. It's my ankel fracture report. I was having fracture for last 1 and a half month and my fracture plaster cast is removed now before 1 or 2 weeks So this report is generated from the x-ray after the cast removal. I want to ask is this still in danger condition or not. The report statement is : ""Small bony fragment is noted along the lateral malleolus, suggestive of avulsion fracture. Soft tissue edema is noted around the ankel joint. Rest of the visualized bones appears unremarkable""

Hi there
An avulsion fracture is usually a small piece of bone that broke off from the main mass of bone - due to trauma - some highly trained athletes can also suffer from these fractures. If it is small a bandage and rest is sufficient, but some may require surgery. it is best to discuss this with your treating doctor who knows your history.
