Congenital scoliosis
Why would an intravenous pyelogram (IVP) be ordered for a 12 y.o. with congenital scoliosis? As an adolescent I was diagnosed with congenital scoliosis due to my L5 vertebrae being fused to my sacrum, resulting in an approximately 5-7 degree curvature of my spine. I remember getting an IVP and am wondering what that procedure was checking for, i.e. how could scoliosis have impacted my kidney function/urinary tract? Thanks!
