You do not specify your sex, males max 2 glasses per day, females one. 3-4 is a problem, and definitely associated with hypertension and the fatty liver you mentioned earlier. Best is stop your alcohol intake, stop smoking, start an exercise program 30 min 5x per week and reach your ideal body mass index - these are called lifestyle changes, step 1 in hypertension treatment.
Your are still young at 39, you do not want a stroke at 65 years. I would guess you may also have an increased waist to hip ratio, or abdominal obesity, tackle this before it gets to be a huge problem, insulin resistance and then on your way to type 2 diabetes.
