Demotion and what constitutes acceptance
The company I work for is currently busy with Retrenchment process, with my post being marked for Demotion. A demotion, with extra people having to report to me. My question is, if I need to reapply for the post (on a demoted level), would that/could that be legally seen as the Employer having consulted with the Employee prior to the demotion? Also, if more responsibility is given, is a demotion then even legal?
