Telament colic drops
Good day Dr I need your advise.. Can I add 6-12 drops of Telament drops to each of my baby's feeds? Or only 3 times daily? The package says "with feeds". I just need to know will it be safe to do so with each feed? He is 4 days old. And can it be used if he has reflux? Or will it make things worse? I suspect he might have reflux. I will take him to be seen by a pediatrician. He vomits with each bottle.. A LOT.. and then starts hiccuping. Crying, unsettling etc. I'm changing his formula from NAN to Novolac HA. I've seen this before with my older son, as he had reflux. Thanks in advance

Thank you for your question and congratulations on the birth of your baby son. You have given all the relevant information. I agree that it is very likely that your baby of 4 days has a problem with reflux. I also agree that it would be best to see your paediatrician as soon as possible, due to the severity of his vomiting. Telament drops are usually most effective for babies with colic and problems with winds. The active ingredient in Telament known as Simethicone is not absorbed by your baby and passes through his digestive system unchanged. Despite being safe it is usually recommended that Telament drops (6 drops per feed) are added to a maximum of 4 of your baby's feeds per day. I hope that this information is of help to you.
