Hi, I have had hypothyroidism for the last 18 years and I take eltroxin daily. I have just started a boot camp as I'm overweight .. I am also going to change my eating .. Are there any foods I need to avoid besides carbs and soya? I would appreciate any tips to help me with my weight loss journey. Thank you

Hi It is good that you have started to exercise. However with weight loss physical activity counts for 15 to 30% of your total daily energy expenditure 70% is food. In terms of weight loss you do not have to avoid carbs as carbs have less calories compared to protein per portion. You need to reduce your calorie intake (all foods give calories - fats protein and carbs) ta level for your body to start burning fat The calorie level you need to lose depends on your age and height.
