Hi It is good that you have started to exercise. However with weight loss physical activity counts for 15 to 30% of your total daily energy expenditure 70% is food. In terms of weight loss you do not have to avoid carbs as carbs have less calories compared to protein per portion. You need to reduce your calorie intake (all foods give calories - fats protein and carbs) ta level for your body to start burning fat The calorie level you need to lose depends on your age and height. We need to evaluate everything you eat and drink daily to work it out This space here is inadequate to provide you with all the info and a calorie restricted plan that will make you successful fits your lifestyle and don t leave you hungry and not feeling deprived  The best is to contact a dietitian in your area to assist you www. adsa.org.za
