Fitness, both as a concept and an industry, has shifted from traditional workouts since the start of the pandemic. As lockdown found a space in our new norm, many are optimistic to see what 2022 will bring.

As Covid-19 influences how we do things significantly, the annual American College of Sports Medicine's (ACSM's) Worldwide Survey of Fitness Trends has helped predict what the strategic approach for 2022 is in the fitness industry. 

From the survey, researchers were able to see which trends were more and less popular from the previous year and new trends. 

ACSM's Health & Fitness trends for 2022: 

1. Wearable technology

2. Home exercise gyms

3. Outdoor activities

4. Strength training with free weights

5. Exercise for weight loss

Whether you love trying new things or looking for your ideal workout, these are just a few hot trends that will impact the fitness industry that you can consider. I mean, if your routine is working for you, why change it? 

Above all, it's about slipping into your activewear and tying those sneakers that will help your mind, body and soul sane as we navigate through another year of uncertainty.
