Age 6-7 years

At six and seven years old, a child’s ball sense and body control will have improved significantly. They will also become more interested in team games.

What 6-7 year olds can do

  • Players now start to develop eye-foot coordination
  • Start to understand the concept of a team and individual roles
  • Enjoy activities that use the arms and legs

How you can help

  • Make exercise fun – playing games on a family outing, take a walk ending somewhere the child wants to go
  • Build skills – encourage developing skills by buying toys that help children develop physical abilities like a climbing frame, skateboard or roller blades
  • Throughout all activities, always ensure a balance between learning and fun.
