Experts are still trying to solve several mysteries about the new coronavirus, which first emerged in Wuhan, China over a year ago.

In a new paper, titled "Covid-19 in 2021 - Continuing Uncertainty", and published in JAMA Network, two authors look at the current best available evidence that answers some of the most complex questions on the virus and pandemic.

"... Moving to the next phase of the pandemic remains a challenge; clinicians and patients have many questions that may not have clear answers," wrote Professor Carlos del Rio and Professor Preeti Malani.
