Covid-19, the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, is typically considered a lung infection but has been found to cause blood clots, potentially leading to severe stroke.

Last year, Health24 reported on a study that found that stroke was eight times more likely with Covid-19 infection than with the flu.

A new study by doctors from Israel and 31 other countries was conducted on two groups of people - some who previously had Covid-19 and were hospitalised for stroke and others who had a stroke while hospitalised for Covid-19.
