The SARS-CoV-2 virus has been shown to wreak havoc on multiple organs of the body. A new case study reports a US man losing vision in his right eye, and explains how the virus might have caused this.
According to the report, the patient, in his 70s, was diagnosed with Covid-19 and initially only had a runny nose (rhinorrhea). But three weeks later, he presented to the emergency department with a headache that he'd had for two weeks. He also experienced fading vision in his right eye for two days.
When the doctors conducted a physical exam, movement of the eye led to "severe pain".
