A third dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine raises antibody levels that neutralise the Omicron variant, according to research from the United Kingdom.

The research, published in The Lancet, assessed the antibodies of people after they received their second dose of the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine and measured the effectiveness of these antibodies against the Omicron variant.

The researchers collected 620 blood samples from 364 participants and measured the antibodies they contained against the Alpha and Delta variants.
