A new study has found that SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes Covid-19) variants are getting better at travelling through the air, making airborne transmission of the virus easier and more efficient.

The study published in Clinical Infectious Diseases aimed to better understand aerosol infectiousness and the impact of mask-wearing on SARS-CoV-2 variants in an airborne environment.

The researchers enrolled 238 people who were diagnosed with Covid-19 from May 2020 through April 2021.
