One day in June 2020, Kabelo Ngoepe started feeling feverish with a sore throat. She initially thought it was an allergic reaction, but soon afterwards lost her sense of smell.
This made it clear she needed to get tested for the coronavirus. Her results came back positive and she observed isolation for 14 days.
After her period of isolation, she thought she was done with Covid-19 - but sadly it was only the beginning of the 24-year-old intern doctor's battle with the virus.
