A new study has found that type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol levels increase one's risk of contracting Covid-19.
The research, published in PLoS ONE, examined the impact of Covid-19 risk factors, such as cholesterol, blood sugar levels and body mass index (BMI).
Data from the UK Biobank was used for the study. The research used profiles of 9 000 UK Biobank study participants, who were tested for SARS-CoV-2 - the virus that causes Covid-19 - from March 16 to July 14, 2020.
