According to a new study, people infected with Covid-19 who are consistently physically inactive have a greater risk of hospitalisation.

The research was published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. It compared hospitalisation rates, intensive care unit (ICU) admissions and mortality in patients with Covid-19 who were consistently inactive, doing some activity or always meeting physical activity guidelines.

The researchers enrolled 48 440 adult patients with a Covid-19 diagnosis from 1 January to 21 October 2020.
