Loss of hearing and other auditory problems are strongly associated with Covid-19, a new study has found.

The research, published in the International Journal of Audiology, used data from 56 studies to estimate the prevalence of hearing problems in Covid-19 patients.

Scientists at the University of Manchester and NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre sifted through hundreds of research papers. They rejected 850 records and used only 28 case reports and 28 cross-sectional studies, which met their criteria for the association between Covid-19 and loss of hearing.
