Weekly tip – Eat pineapple for healthier bones

Next time you open a can of pineapples, don't throw the juice away. Research shows that drinking pineapple juice or eating other foods rich in manganese could protect your bones.

Take action:
Try to include pineapple and pineapple juice in your diet. A good idea is to add pineapple to fruit salads, green salads, smoothies, home-made chutney, pizza and desserts. Also use some of the juice in the can when you're making fruit salad and smoothies. Opt for 100% fruit juices that contain pineapple juice. Just remember to always dilute the juice with water.
