When tonsils attack


They are supposed to stop infections in young children, but what do you do if tonsils turn renegade and become part of the problem? 

When our grandparents were children doctors routinely removed tonsils if they became infected, but then the procedure went out of fashion and research appeared to indicate that it was better to leave them in.  What has your experience been?
