Banting? No dairy, says Noakes

Diets come and go like the winds. Atkins, South Beach, the Master Juice Cleanse and many more have all had their time in the sun. At the moment, Banting, especially the Tim Noakes variety, is firmly entrenched as the diet a la mode, though you wouldn't be mad for suggesting that this one might actually stick around.

There are numerous reports, both anecdotal and newsworthy, of people dropping weight like crazy on the diet, particularly people who have struggled to shift it in the past.

However, not everyone is finding it so superlative. Some people have cut out such wonders as pasta and beer only to find their weight barely budging an inch, if at all.

The culprit, it seems, is dairy. Many people who have adopted the banting way have found solace in copious amounts of cheese, cream and butter. These people, it seems, are not losing much weight.

Here's what Tim Noakes had to say.
