accreditation

Not only is it the ultimate DIY solution when it comes to fixing up or replacing an ugly ceiling, but it provides superb insulation too!

Keen to update an old knotty pine ceiling or install a smart new one? With IsoBoard’s innovative, lightweight insulation boards made from super strong polystyrene you can even do it yourself! Install IsoBoard as a flat ceiling or use it as a cathedral-style lining underneath a roof, if you prefer the look of exposed trusses. Beautiful!

What is IsoBoard?

IsoBoard manufactures premium thermal insulation boards made of highdensity rigid polystyrene for use in ceilings, inside cavity walls or underneath floors. It greatly improves temperature control in your home, keeping you warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It also comes in edge-bevelled or tongueand- groove finishes and is available in boards up to 80mm thick and 8m long.

Did you know?

1. IsoBoard can be treated with water-based paints and wood stains to suit your colour scheme.

2. When replacing a ceiling, leave the existing ceiling as is and simply install IsoBoard directly underneath – a quick and permanent solution with minimal mess or fuss!

3. Adjacent boards interlock with tongue-and-groove edges, providing easy installation and a continuous layer of thermal insulation.

4. Concealed fixing brackets and an adhesive are included in the package when installing IsoBoard as a ceiling

Advantages of IsoBoard

Reliability Correctly installed, the boards are effective for the lifespan of the building.

Durability Manufactured locally since 1995, nearly every IsoBoard installation is still ‘active to specification’; this means that the insulation lasts indefinitely at the thermal performance level we promise and doesn’t need replacing.

Safety IsoBoard does not spread flames. In the event of a fire, it softens and shrinks away from the heat source. This has been proven in many home and commercial building fires.

Compliance Construction must comply with the South African National Standard (SANS) 10400 XA to reduce the energy buildings use to maintain consistent temperatures. IsoBoard’s insulation properties are designed for this purpose.

Health benefits The boards are non-toxic, moisture-resistant and do not support mould growth.

Cost efficiency IsoBoard offers one of the lowest installed cost thermal insulation solutions.

Versatility The South African Board of Agrément certifies non-standard building materials. IsoBoard has five Agrément certificates for the different insulation installation solutions on offer, including ceilings, walls, roofs and floors.

• Zero ozone depletion properties The gas used to create the rigid foam known as IsoBoard has been changed in line with obligations under the Kyoto Protocol to a gas that has no impact on the ozone layer, making it more ecofriendly.
