Every bride wants to be the best version of herself on her big day. Esther Chungu from Wawu, That’s My Dress: Zambia is giving Zambian brides a whirlwind experience on HONEY TV, alongside the talented stylist Mulenga Chileshe. Wawu, That’s My Dress was a hit with viewers as one of the channel’s original formats in its launch period (February 2021). The show has been to Nigeria with Dami Oke, to Kenya with Amina Abdi Rabar, and more recently to Zambia with Esther Chungu.

The popular host shares her five do’s and don’ts for a bride when preparing for the wedding day.

ESTHER’S DO’S

1. Set aside 10 minutes for yourself to just relax and soak it all in before you walk down the aisle. You’ll need that little moment, trust me, sis!

2. Make sure yourr chief bridesmaid is ready for anything – a portable sewing kit, some safety pins, a sanitary pad, make-up brush, tissues (for the tears) and roll-on/cologne for you, because my sister, you will sweat on behalf of Usain Bolt on the day.

3. Please don’t take in too many fluids so as to avoid the convenience room. Let’s try and stay pretty and keep still for the camera, I beg of you. We don’t want the bride going missing every now and then, lol.

4. Choose make-up you’ll enjoy the whole day. Remember it’s your day. Make sure you like how you look. You’ll have those photos for life. 5. Give your phone to someone you trust and by all means try to stay away from it. Enjoy every moment of becoming a WHOLE MRS!

ESTHER DON’TS

1. Don’t eat too much. You’ll survive. I’m not saying starve yourself, just don’t nibble on foods that will have your lipstick gone when you need it the most.

2. Do not make any “plans” on the day itself. Whatever the plan is by the time your wedding day arrives, just go with that.

3. Try not to have important conversations with your groom on the day of the wedding. Let that day be one you will both enjoy with no unnecessary emotions in the air. You both deserve to enjoy the day.

4. Do not trust people you know are unreliable to do important things at the wedding. We wouldn’t want you giving the rings to someone you know might suddenly announce they’re off to Italy two hours before you walk down the aisle.

5. Don’t hold back from feeling every emotion. That’s normal. If you want to cry as you walk down the aisle, let it out, baby girl. The make-up artist will work her magic before the groom unveils you. That’s your day, sweetheart. We are here for all of it!!!
