Saturday at Home with Tjhoko Paint: Week 3

We can’t wait to host the last of our three virtual workshops this Saturday during which we’ll be making table décor!

Join us for a masterclass in chalk painting techniques on glass, metal, plastic and cardboard with Tjhoko Paint and be inspired to brighten up your world. We’ll show you how easy it is to recycle and decorate with just a few items. This fun workshop is suitable for the whole family. Gather everyone together around the table and get creative with us. We can’t wait to meet you online. See you on Saturday, 4 July!

What you'll need around the house:

  • cover for your table/workspace
  • bin
  • old t-shirt or apron
  • bucket of water 
  • jug of boiled water, cooled
  • ice cream tub
  • empty tins (food/dog food)
  • galvanised bucket
  • empty glass jars (coffee or Consol jars with lids)
  • ribbon or rope to tie around the jar
  • naartjie, tomato or shoe box
  • fabric offcuts to put around the tin
  • detergent bottles

Shopping list:

  • mutton cloth
  • lacquer thinners
  • two or more Tjhoko colours of your choice 
  • Stencil of Paris paste
  • Tjhoko Clear Glaze
  • 38mm Utility paint brush
  • 50mm scraper
  • stencil of your choice (the box will be stencilled)
  • stencil brush
  • transfer of your choice (this will be applied to the galvanised bucket)
  • 100-grit sandpaper (optional)
