What to look forward to this spring on Honey TV

Following the launch of successful shows such as Pastors’ Wives, Making The Menu, The Next Big Trender and Wawu, That’s My Dress, HONEY TV is set to release a new roster of shows this spring. The popularity of the channel’s recent Nigerian reality show, Nollywood Queens has seen a surge in notoriety and set fertile ground for brand-new offerings. Taking centre stage are three newly formatted shows titled House of Chefs, Love Me or Leave Me and My Naija Plate. Each offers a fresh perspective on reality cooking shows (House of Chefs and My Naija Plate) and relationship reality shows (Love Me or Leave Me). Along with the original formats, the channel has also enlisted new talent from across the continent.

BRAND-NEW SHOWS:

HOUSE OF CHEFS – Season 1:

Talented trainee chefs from across the African continent get a chance to enter the world of high cuisine. Ugandan TV host, Sheilah Gashumba takes the reigns as the host of the exciting cooking competition, with South African celebrity chef, Siba Mtongana as the coveted judge. Tobe Onyenyeonwu (Nigeria), Thabo Phake (South Africa), Kalu Chikamba (Zambia), Marry Ziringa (DRC), Ingrid Musabe (Rwanda), Ruth Buliaumu (DRC), Les Sempele (Kenya) and Joseph Odoom (Ghana) will face-off in the kitchen for the chance of a lifetime. The prize? A prestigious internship with Chef Siba at her popular self-titled restaurant and a $5000 cash prize.

LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME – Season 1:

Clinical Psychologist and TV host, Nozibusiso Nyawose will host Love Me or Leave Me in an attempt to help four unhappy couples figure out their love stories. With both a professional and academic background, Nyawose will take each couple and address their unique problems. From infidelity and fertility issues to body shaming and a lack of trust, we see each couple break down their seemingly concrete emotional walls? In HONEY TV’s brand-new relationship fixing show, all the cards are placed on the table in an emotional journey.

MY NAIJA PLATE – Season 1:

We explore Nigerian food in this upbeat cooking show hosted by food blogger Winifred Nwania. She explores the most exciting recipes made with ingredients that are simple and authentically Nigerian. From the famous Nigerian jollof rice to plantain and Egusi, Winnie goes on a culinary whirlwind. Viewers get all the thrilling tips and tricks on the key to Nigerian cuisine.

FRESH SEASONS: HAIR KNOCKOUT – Season 2:

From Tuesday, 17 August 2021 WAT 17:30 | CAT 18:30 | EAT 19:30

On season two of Hair Knockout talented stylists take each other on in a boxing ring to see whose hair creation will take the title. International model Adeola Ariyo hosts this thrilling hairstyling competition in which one of the stylists will reign supreme. In a studio-based boxing ring, two stylists go toe to toe for the prize. In each episode they are tasked with creating the best version of a particular style. They have a limited amount of time and resources. At the end of each episode the team hits the streets to find out which style people think is the best.

THE BUZZ – Season 7:

From Wednesday, 25 August 2021 WAT 17:00 | CAT 18:00 | EAT 19:00

A talk show in which a panel of five women from across the continent, share their opinions and anecdotes on everyday life issues. It is driven by an agony aunt type letter outlining a viewer’s dilemma – be it about romance, health, their hustle, family or friends. The Buzz team will offer their advice and through the course of the episode, more details around the conundrum are revealed. To conclude, they vote on the matter.

WAWU, THAT'S MY DRESS: ZAMBIA – Season 1:

On Wawu, That’s My Dress: Zambia a Zambian boutique is where Esther Chungu helps Zambian brides look for their dream wedding dresses. We follow the buzzing activity at this boutique as brides strive to make their dreams for the big day a reality. With the help of Esther, a stylist and some of the bride’s loved ones, we hear about her personal taste and her expectations of her wedding day. As each bride walks out of the dressing room, their loved ones get to vote on whether the dress is ‘wawu’ or not, in the hopes of helping her make the best decision she can.

EHE! IT'S A MATCH: KENYA – Season 2:

On Ehe! It’s A Match: Kenya we watch brave individuals play matchmaker and introduce two of their single friends to one another. They transform their kitchens into a pop-up restaurant where they host a date for their two single friends – right there in their own home. With a noble attempt at cooking and hosting, the friend tries to tailor the date to the personalities of both their friends.

GUESS THE DRESS – Season 2:

With the help of friends and family, a bride goes on a hunt for her dream wedding dress at the perfect bridal boutique. Out of three options, the groom gets to guess which one his bride will pick. Will he guess the right dress & win the cash the cash prize?
