Tired of your boring old house number plaque? Give it a fresh look with a stencil, Woodoc Colours and some succulents!
You will need
- plywood (600 x 280 x 8mm)
- wooden box
- stencils of your choice
- Woodoc Water-Borne MARINE Clear Matt
- Woodoc Colours in Full Moon
- mixing container and stick
- repositionable spray adhesive
- sponge roller and tray
- paintbrush
- sandpaper
- drill with 5mm wood drill bit
- screwdriver
- six 25mm chipboard screws
- stick-on house number
- succulents and potting soil
1. Decant about 100ml of Woodoc Water-Borne MARINE Clear Matt into the mixing container and add a teaspoon of Woodoc Colours in Full Moon. Stir well.
2. Apply spray adhesive to the stencil and position it on the side of the box.
3. Decant the mixture you made in step 1 into the paint tray and roll the sealer over the stencil.
Tip: To prevent bleeding, the sponge roller should be relatively dry; remove excess sealer by rolling it out on a piece of cardboard before applying it over the stencil.
4. Repeat step 3 on the plywood.
5. Drill drainage holes in the base of the wooden box.
6. Seal the box and plywood with three coats of Woodoc Water-Borne MARINE Clear Matt on all sides. Let the sealer dry completely between coats and lightly sand after coat one and two have dried before applying the next coat. Do not sand after the third coat.
7. Attach the box to the plywood with screws.
8. Add the potting soil to the box and plant your succulents.
