Project notes

    • To make your task easier, ask your timber merchant to cut the wood to size for you.

    • Remember to drill pilot holes.

Get started

1. Draw a pencil line as a guide and use the jigsaw to round off one corner of both 250 x 130mm supports. Also draw a semi-circular pencil line on the 600 x 300mm flap and cut along the line.

2. Using the 40mm screws, attach the 600 x 150mm fixed top piece at a right angle to the 600 x 130mm back. Tip: Use one of the 250 x 130mm pieces as a support.

3. Turn the structure upside-down with the fixed top piece facing downwards and place the semi-circular flap against it; join the two pieces with two 75mm hinges (use the 16mm screws and position the hinges about 10mm in from each side).

4. Position the two 250 x 130mm supports at right angles to the back, flush with the inner edge of the two hinges, and mark where the second pair of hinges will be attached to the back and supports. First screw the hinges to the supports and then to the back.

5. Drill pilot holes through the back ready to fix the table to the wall: one on the outside of each support and one in the middle slightly higher than those on the sides. Fill all the screw holes with wood filler and sand thoroughly once completely dry. Use a spirit level to position the table then screw it to the wall.
