Ingredients
- 200.00g - dark chocolate
- 125.00g - soft butter
- 0.000 - 4 extra-large eggs
- 375.00ml - castor sugar
- 5.00ml - vanilla essence
- 250.00ml - cake flour
- 30.00ml - cocoa
- 3.00ml - baking powder
- 100.00g - walnuts or pecans

Melt the chocolate in a
mixing bowl over hot water.
Beat in the soft butter and
let it cool slightly.
Beat the eggs and castor
sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla essence.
Sift the dry ingredients
together and fold them into
the egg mixture, followed by
the chocolate and nuts. Be
careful not to overmix it.
Transfer the batter to a
greased square cake tin
(27cm) and place it in the
oven for about 20 minutes.
Allow the cake to cool in
the cake tin before you cut
it into brownie squares.
You can eat the brownies
as they are or serve
them with ice cream and
chocolate sauce.
