Ingredients
- 1 - pork rib of about 1.5kg
- - MARINADE:
- 1 - thumb-sized piece of ginger, grated
- 3cloves - of garlic, crushed
- 1-2 - red chillies, deseeded and finely chopped
- 5ml - fine cinnamon
- 5ml - five-spice powder
- 125ml - honey
- 125ml - soya sauce
- 30ml - soft brown sugar
- 30ml - sesame oil
- - juice of 2 lemons
Method
Honey and soya sauce remains a winning combination with pork.
Mix the marinade ingredients. Place the ribs in a bowl and pour the marinade over. Set aside in the fridge for a few hours, preferably overnight.
Braai the ribs over mild coals for about 45-60 minutes until cooked and soft, brushing marinade over at intervals.
Cut in portions between the ribs and brush marinade over.
Braai quickly over the coals until crispy all over. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve.
