
- - Water, for boiling
- 500 ml (2 cups) - hot chilli sauce
- 24 - chicken wings, tips trimmed
- 225 g - flour
- 20 ml (4 tsp) - paprika
- 5 ml (1 tsp) - cracked black pepper
- 5 ml (1 tsp) - salt
- 2 large - SPAR eggs
- - Oil, for frying
1 Boil the water in a pot and add half the chilli sauce to the water. Add the chicken wings and boil for 20 minutes.
2 Drain the wings well and toss in the remaining chilli sauce until well coated.
3 Marinate for 1-2 hours.
4 Mix the flour, paprika, black pepper and salt together.
5 Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl.
6 Coat each wing, first with flour and then with egg, and then once again with flour.
7 Fry the coated wings in hot oil in a pan until golden and crispy.
8 Drain well on paper towel and serve with skinny fries.
Skinny fries
- 3 large SPAR Freshline potatoes, peeled and cut into thin sticks
- 30 ml (2 Tbsp) white vinegar
- 30 ml (2 Tbsp) salt
- 2 litres (8 cups) boiling water
- Oil, for frying
Method
1 Place the potato sticks, vinegar, salt and water in a pot and boil until tender.
2 Drain and place on paper towel for about 5 minutes.
3 Heat the oil in a pan and fry the potato sticks until crispy. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towel.
4 Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately with the hot wings.
