Chakalaka nachos

This quick and easy light meal requires only five ingredients – it makes a delicious starter at a braai while you wait for the coals to be just right.

Serves 4 as a light meal

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 5–10 minutes

  • about 500 ml shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 tin (400 g) mild chakalaka
  • 250 g nacho chips
  • about 250 ml grated mozzarella
  • guacamole to serve

1 Combine the chicken and chakalaka and season to taste. Create layers of the nacho chips and chicken mixture in an ovenproof dish or on an ovenproof serving platter and top with the grated cheese.

2 Grill the nachos until the cheese bubbles. Serve with guacamole.
