Even though spring still feels far away, pot lavender ‘Blue Magic’ is in bloom with the added attraction of its highly aromatic silvery-grey foliage. It can be placed in any room that receives bright filtered sunlight, or even some morning sun. Let the potting mix moderately dry out before watering. At the end of its flowering period, cut back and plant in full sun in the garden or in a container outdoors. Besides their fragrance, the leaves have antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial properties. Make a calming lavender tea (infuse a sprig in boiling water for 5 minutes), put a sprig under your pillow for a good night’s sleep or add to the bathwater for a relaxing soak.
