The Macdonald’s used gum poles from a nearby demolished log house and large stones cleared from their plot to build their dream home on a slope in Noordhoek.

The views from the stoep of this Noordehoek eco home are expansive – you can see both the Atlantic Ocean on the left and Indian Ocean on the right!

The Macdonalds painted their home's exterior grey to blend into the surrounding landscape. The log walls were painted with a specially mixed mid-tone grey by Paintsmiths while the windows and exterior doors received a lick of lighter grey – Dulux Dusted Moss 3. The colour works well with the rich orange-brown of the mountain stones used on the front walls and in the garden.
