When Karin and Hein du Plessis built their house 20 years ago there was nothing on the property – not even a tree.

“There were rocks everywhere,” Karin says.

“We brought in a digger loader to remove the big rocks and added tons of topsoil, compost and rich clay soil to the very sandy soil.” Hard landscaping elements such as the 15m-long pond were installed during the building process. This pond now creates a focal point from the house, inviting you to explore the garden beyond.
