Hub of Loving Action in Africa is a queer forum that touches on all realms of sex and sexuality as it pertains to queer Africans. Since being established in 2012 it looks to be a space where women and gender non-conforming people can come together and engage with each other and the world. To further their ethos, they partnered with publishing house Blackbird Books to publish Exhale.

With a titled that alludes to an orgasm, Exhale is a collection of short stories with queer accounts of sexual pleasure.

For a glimpse into the anthology, a passage from the anthology reads as follows:

They kissed. Softly at first, then desperately. Things fell all around them, loudly. It sounded as though a few things broke as well. Neither of them could ignore their need for long enough to care, or to check the extent of the damage they were causing. Remi couldn’t remember the last time she was so completely present with another woman. She was so absorbed by her and into her and so oblivious to anything else but her body, her sounds and her smell

To offer a wide variety of voices, contributors of the collection include Mercy Thokozane Minah (South Africa), Mubanga Kalimamukwento (Zambia), Fiske Nyirongo (Zambia), Tshegofatso Senne (South Africa), Nakhane (South Africa), Cisi Eze (Nigeria), OluTimehin Adegbeye (Nigeria), Lady Nwadike (United States) and Yvonne Ethagene (Nigeria).
