BOOK: Koos Bekker’s Billions by TJ Strydom (Penguin).

Koos Bekker swept in at Naspers, transforming an Afrikaans publishing and printing company into a global technology giant, earning investors trillions and himself a good few billion. But how? Koos Bekker remembers their first meeting in the Nasionale Pers building on Cape Town’s Foreshore late on an April afternoon in 1984. ‘I had come from America to sell the concept of M-Net, and a quarter of the way through the presentation the projector jammed,’ he recounted later.
