Autopsy by Ryan Blumenthal
Autopsy by Ryan Blumenthal

Forensic pathologist Ryan Blumenthal has performed thousands of autopsies. In 'Autopsy' he covers the hard lessons learnt as a rookie pathologist,as well as some of the most unusual cases he’s encountered. Here is an extract from his book:

To the forensic pathologist, a corpse represents a crime scene that potentially contains many clues about the cause of death. The autopsy is a way to uncover these clues. It is a very complex and labour-intensive procedure, but also one of the cheapest procedures in medicine. An autopsy is also the biggest procedure in the whole of medicine (never let a surgeon tell you otherwise!).
