BOOK: Rebel: My Escape from Saudi Arabia to Freedom by Rahaf Mohammed, as told to Sally Armstrong (Harper Collins).
Rahaf Mohammed spent the first six years of her life as a playful little girl with her two older brothers and two older sisters in the city of Ha’il in the north west of Saudi Arabia. Her younger brother was sickly and struggled with asthma, so he spent his earliest years in his bedroom with their mother. Their Indonesian nanny, Sarah, played the roles of mother, father and guardian to the five children. Her youngest sister had not yet been born.
