Food bloggers are notorious for hiding recipes among personal anecdotes about how they first discovered the meal. And since Dan Moyane’s memoir also has reflections on him by people who’ve met him, I feel it’s only fair to make you labour through my Dan Moyane story before the rest of this review.

In my 2018 interview with Moyane, I found he balanced the structure of the discussion with genuine warmth and curiosity. I knew I was in good hands from the start of the crisp, incisive discussion. Millions are familiar with this combination of gravitas and relatability, but what they may be unfamiliar with is Moyane’s journey to reach their TV screens both in terms of his life story as well as the commitments he’s fulfilling before his interviews.
