I initially started reading Shafiq Morton’s expanded edition of his 2014 book, Imtiaz Sooliman and the Gift of the Givers on the taxi ride back home after picking it up in town. But, after going through both prefaces (2014 and 2021), I realised that I was going to need a much calmer space than the front seat of the taxi if I was planning on enjoying the read, especially considering the pressure of counting money and giving out change that came with sitting there.
