  • As the UCI World Cup returns to Brazil, after an absence of nearly two decades, the jungle will provide an unpredictable racing environment.
  • But in typical Italian style, Alé makes sure that riders look comfortable and stylish in the Petrópolis jungle.
  • Vivid new riding jerseys and bib shorts, will make Trinx Factory riders unmissable at the season's first race.

Bright colours and immense biodiversity are renowned elements of the Brazilian forest landscape.

As the UCI World Cup and its riders return to Brazil for the first time since 2005, some Italian competitors will be in terrifically trendy kit.

Alé is an Italian cycling apparel brand and jersey supplier to the Trinx Factory UCI mountain bike team. Italian textile mills and craftspeople have an established reputation for making some of the best riding kit – trading on the country's powerful legacy and obsession with cycling.

Brazilian inspiration - Italian style

Trinx is a Chinese bike brand, represented in competitive mountain biking by Italian riders such as Luca Bramati and Elena Merenti. To celebrate elite mountain bike racing's return to Brazil, Trinx commissioned special edition jerseys from Alé.

As one would expect from an Italian activewear brand, the product team at Alé did not disappoint. The brief was to create riding gear for the Trinx team members, that would pay tribute to Brazil and its species diversity.

Using its PR.S collection as a foundation, Alé’s designers and fabric technicians created a 'lush' livery for the Trinx riders. Blending rich colours with a Brazilian animal theme requires skill and design consciousness.

Making a jungle theme look stylish - not silly

Exceptionally vivid designs can often look ungainly or gaudy when worn by mountain bikers.

The Veronese company showed typically bold and brilliant Italian design awareness, integrating the jaguar and toucan with its special edition jersey.

Beyond making the Trinx riders look terrifically recognisable and on-trend for the Brazilian UCI World Cup event, the Alé jerseys are also about creating awareness.

Alessia Piccolo, CEO of Alé’s holding company, is thrilled with the team’s activewear outcome. "I wish the team and all the athletes competing a wonderful 2022 XCO season. And deep reflection, particularly on the importance of preserving wonderful animals."
