Riding the world’s most fantastic mass participation race is all about that 109km route on 13 March.

But for many Cape Town Cycle Tour (CTCT) riders, the accompanying expo is very much part of their cycling culture experience.

As pandemic restrictions ease, the expo will return to a familiar scale, opening for rider registration on 10 March at the Cape Town stadium. However, access to the expo will be limited to vaccinated adult entrants or those with a negative rapid antigen test no older than 72 hours.

There will be rapid antigen testing at the entrance for R175.

Lots to look at

Race registration is usually a case of necessary admin for riders, but the CTCT expo has always made it worthwhile. With more than 50 exhibitors, riders will have plenty to look at regarding new apparel, accessories, components and bikes.

Browsing the expo gathers that communal cycling spirit and energy that makes the CTCT such a celebrated event.

The CTCT expo will be operating from 09:30-19:00 on 10 March and 09:00-19:00 on 11 March.

Riders who wish to visit the expo a day preceding Sunday’s race, will have a window of 09:00-16:00 on 12 March.

Traffic around the venue can be an issue, but the Thule bike park will be in operation - park your car far away and cycle through the traffic jams, leaving your bike safe with Thule’s guarded facility.
