Practice for the penultimate event of the UCI World Cup series saw a great run from KZN’s Greg Minnaar on Thursday. The world’s best mountain bikers are in Canada, to test their skills against the Mont-Sainte-Anne venue.

The winningest downhill mountain biker of all time appears to be regaining form late in the season, with a fifth-place finish at Saturday’s chaotic Snowshoe round in Virginia.

During Thursday’s practice session at the Mont-Sainte-Anne downhill course, Minnaar went third fastest, in a time of 4:30.619. Minnaar has won here before, in 2008, and been a consistent podium finisher at the Canadian round of the UCI World Cup.
