When most passengers descend into Harare International Airport, mountain biking is not top of mind. But for me, it is. 

As usual, my passage through customs and immigration went smoothly with the pleasant and friendly Zimbabwean officialdom, so scarce in some other countries. Routing to my host on the far side of Harare, things appeared much the same as they were when I left a few years ago.

I was glad to be back in Zimbabwe, where I spent some of the happiest years of my life – and discovered terrific trail riding.
