The great advantage of a gravel bike is that it’s very likely going to take you places you’ve never been.

Chances are you’ll be pedaling through back roads, climbing forgotten mountain passes, and generally adding new vistas to your personal image bank. The Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race was the perfect example of all of that.

The inaugural event was held over 28-30 May and based at the Tankwa Tented Camp (off the R355 and roughly 160km from Ceres in the Western Cape).
