Erica Green was the first mountain biker to represent South Africa at the Olympic Games.

The Somerset West local is one of the true pioneers of South African mountain biking and 25 years down the line she is as passionate about the sport as ever.

1996 was the first time that the mountain bike discipline was part of the Olympics and Green managed to finish 17th out of 29 starters. In 2000 Green was again the only South African mountain biker at the Sydney Olympics.
