Ryder Innovation, a Cape Town cycling component brand, has won the prestigious Eurobike Innovators Prize.

The world’s largest and most influential cycling trade event, EuroBike is a display of future trends, design evolution and product excellence.

Hosted at Frankfurt’s globally renowned conferencing facility, EuroBike’s Innovators Prize has thousands of entries.

At last year’s event, Ryder Innovation’s Lubretta took honours and Thursday evening saw the announcement of a terrific 'double' for the South African design team. Eurobike awarded the Ryder Innovation Groove Tool Pro its Innovators Prize winner for accessories.

A proudly South African product

Omnico CEO Alan Hodson was on hand to receive the award, along with the Ryder Innovation product team.

Ryder Innovation is dedicated to finding affordable cycling component solutions for riders. Incubated within South Africa’s Omnico cycling distribution company, Ryder Innovation is proudly local.

Its industrial design team prototype, test and produce locally instead of rebranding imports. Or using offshore contract manufacturers.

A true multi-talented multitool

The Groove Tool Pro is an affordable cycling multitool with some clever features.

It has five nickel-plated bits and totals six hex keys and two screwdriver tips (T10 and T25). There is even a chainbreaker, too.

With its plastic casing and robust weather-sealing, the Groove Tool Pro won't rust. An issue with many metal cycling multitools.

It makes adjusting your bicycle, a joy

Ryder Innovation’s industrial designers configured the Groove Tool Pro to have leverage and reach in both the 'T' and 'L' hand tool grips. That makes it better than conventional metal multitools at engaging with those challenging-to-reach bolts and screws on your road, gravel or mountain bike.

Unlike other multitools, the Groove Tool Pro has no external metal casing or edges. That means you have much lower injury risk, during a crash, with a Groove Tool Pro in your pocket.
