A family business is always something to admire. It has a unique sense of passion, commitment and trust. Typically, parents are the founders or owners, and the kids work somewhere underneath.
However, for South African bike component company, Lyne Components, it is the son — Dayle Holmes — who sits in the co-founder position alongside his father, Derry.
Dayle became enveloped in mountain biking and had a background in motocross and BMX. One of his first jobs was with Silverback bikes, which turned into a six-year stint doing full-frame design.
