If you’re looking for a scenic gravel loop – and an excellent roosterkoek – this 114km pedal through the Boland should be high up on your list of planned rides.

The route was originally plotted by gravel meisters Rae Trew-Browne and Kevin Benkenstein during the dark days of early Covid lockdown and was a sibling to the another similarly named "SXSE" route in Gauteng.

The Cape Town version was held over a one-week window in July 2020, which I rode and had total blast. When Rae threw out an invite to ride it again, of course I was in.
